analysis of a level media Studies teaser trailer.

Film – Vengeance 2oo7

Time – 35 Seconds

Genre – Martial Arts

First shot is of the logo of the company, which lasts around 3 seconds. next shots are all themed in together, it goes from one shot of writing to long shots of the boys fighting, each is cut after around a second. all the shots are the same apart from one 24 seconds in when it goes into a close up of one of the boy’s faces. it then cuts to the title of the film for a few seconds, and then the most professional looking editing is done with the last shot, it is of ta boy doing a high kick but it has editied with slow motion to give it more of a effect. last shot is again more writing which appears no more than a few seconds. all of the camera shots are the same – long, wide shots, excluding the shot 24 seconds in, which is a close up. other than that no fancy camera work is done in the trailer, pretty basic. each shot is editied to only last a few seconds to make it look more effective and exciting. The majority sounds in the trailer are non-diegtic, a song relating to te genre of the trailer is played throughout, alongside with sound effects which has been editied in everytime there is a sound that is wanted to be enhanced and sound louder, to make it seem more effective and exciting. i decided to include this in my research of two trailers as i feel it is a brilliant example of a teaser trailer as it is only 35 seconds long, as timing is vital for a teaser trailer as it has to be short, to add more effect and to get the audience wanting more and therefore wanting to go and actaully see the film. Although the camera work and editing is pretty basic excluding the last shot, it has given me a good insight in how i want my own trailer to be like.
