i couldn’t use this footage for my trailer in the end because when uploaded it went sideways, and wouldn’t rotate. i also had to change characters as my original selected actress didnt have time to re-film.

location shots.
December 10, 2009
The first location that will be shot. It helps set the scene for the rest of the trailer, i wanted somewhere that gave off a dirty, sinful vibe that colaborates with the plot. This is where we first see the adultorus couple, throughout the duration we do not see the blackmailer, so each shot will be a over-the-shoulder shot, giving the impression that we are looking through her eyes. This shot will only last around a few seconds, although i may use this location again for later on in the trailer if i need to.
This location i decided will be where the woman recieves the first text from the blackmailer, it’ll be a extreme close up of the womans face and the mobile so the location won’t be seen much in it, in regardless i wanted to keep all the locations in simular contexts. this shot will onl durate a few seconds.
The last location in my trailer, where the shot is again a over-the-shoulder shot giving the impression its the blackmailer, except this time we see her hand extend out to grab the woman, who has her back to the camera. this shot will be very quick, to add more effect and impact, and the non-diegtic music will also stop at this point, so this shot will only have diegtic sound to also create more impact.

script plan.
November 13, 2009
1st Scene – to start with i will have a slide or writing, which will bore ‘do you ever feel like..’ the background will be black to help create a sense of danger etc..the writing will be in white to help it really stand out amongst the black. the elipsis at the end helps give off the impression that theres more to be said in the trailer, creating a sense of anticipation. it will only durate around 2-3 seconds, long enough for people to be able to read it but not so long that it becomes boring.
2nd Scene – First shown bit of filming. will begin with a close up of a boy -with his back to us – on his mobile phone, and giving the impression that the shot is a over-the-shoulder shot the frame will get bigger, showing more of the boy and giving the impression that the person we cant see is stepping back. this shot will durate around 3-4 seconds, as time goes on during the trailer the shots durate shorter to help create suspense and anticipation.
3rd Scene – next shot is very similar to the first shot, same background, same font..only it now says ‘Something…’ , following on from the previous sentance, the ellipsis is again used to show that the sentance is not yet finished, resulting in excitment from the viewer.
4th Scene- Next shot we go back to the boy in the alleyway, the person contiunes to step back until all we see is a wall..this hopefully gives the viewer the impression that the person we cannot see is spying on the boy. this shot goes right into the next shot.. we now see the boy walking down the alleyway, the camera is still a -over-the-shoulder shot to demostrate that the person is still following the boy.
5th Scene - again some writing, same as before but writing this time says ‘is watching you?’ question mark is used to demostrate to the audience that it is a rhetorical question.. no more ellipsis to show that this is the final sentance.
6th Scene – shot is returned to the boy walking down the alley. the hand held camera starts jerking and shaking to show that the person is running, to help quicken things up and hopefully create excitment amongst the viewer. just before the shot ends a hand reaches out infront of the camera and reaches for the boy, giving the impression that the hand belongs to the person stalking him. the red nail varnish and ring makes it obvious that its a woman stalking him, hopefully creating some intriguity amongst the audience.
7th Scene - again a shot of writing, same background but with different larger font, as its the title of the film, therefore i want it to stand out amongst the previous writing. this will durate 2-3 seconds and will follow with a simular slide saying ‘coming 2010′
8th Scene – last shot is very quick, only lasts 0-1 seconds, its a quick snapshot of the previous scene, where the hand is closer to the boy, i made it very fast to create more anticipation and hopefully it will be the shot to encourage people to watch the movie.
If everything goes as planned hopefully my trailer will last around 20- 30 seconds , which fits perfectly with the norm duration of a teaser trailer. there will be no -non diegtic sounds such as music and such, there will only be diegtic sound of the surroundings in the alleyway, i feel this creates more suspense and a vibe of eeriness.

description of trailer.
October 9, 2009
- Name of trailer. The Stalker. this title gives a impression of what the movie will be about, but without giving too much away, i aim it to create anticipation.
- Genre of trailer. I considered doing a romantic comedy but i then decided not to as i thought it would be quite a hard trailer to portray effectively. So i reconisdered and My genre is a physchological thriller, which is abit more complex and unique then the more well known genres e.g horror, comedy, but i believe that this best describes what my trailer will contain.
- Plot/Storyline of trailer. The basic plot is .. a everyday, normal woman…who for some reason is being stalked by someone, the identity of the stalker is not revealed in the trailer, but obviously would be in the movie.
- Characters. the central character is the woman, who will appear throughout the trailer, she is being stalked by somebody that isnt revealed in the trailer, to create more suspense and to make the audience want to know more, and therefore to go and watch the movie.
- Location. The main location will be in a alleyway, but each shot will be in separate areas of the alleyway.
- Equipment. The only equipment i will use will be a hand held camera in which to do all of filming and a camera to take photographs of the location shots and the character photographs.
-Props. the only prop that i need is the mobile phone of the womans.
-Costumes. the clothing will only be casual.
-Camera Work. I will mainly use a range of long shots, wide shots , close ups and extreme close ups to create effect and highlight the particular time. i will use basic camera angles and shots, i will make it simple, but effective.
-Sounds. To create the atmosphere i want there will be no digetic or non digetic sound throughout. i aim for this to help create more suspense and a eiree silence.
- Time. As its a teaser trailer it needs to be very short, to add effect and makes the audience want to find out more and therfore go and watch the movie. so my trailer will last around 2o to 3o seconds.
analysis of movie poster
October 8, 2009
Film – Notes on a Scandal
Year – 2oo6
Genre -Pyschological drama
The very first thing i noted about this film poster was the colour that is used. The colours really stand out amongst anything else and are quite unusual colouring. The deep red on Judi Dench suggests that she is the villian of the film, as red is related to evil and danger the majority of the time whereas Cate Blanchett is highlighted with a deep yellow, suggesting that she is the innocent one in the film. The postioing of the two head is also something i noted to be unusual. With Judi Dench just behind Cate Blanchett it appears that she is almost lurking behind her, suggesting that the relationship between the two is not a pleasent one. I also noted how unusual it was that Judi Dench is looking straight at the camera whereas Cate Blanchett is looking away, as if she is looking into the distance., again relating to the tweo characters they are portratying in the film. The font also suggests the genre of the film with it being bold and in deep red and black, which are dark colours and are usually regarded as negative colours. There is only one bit of writing that is in a different colour, this is to make that particular sentence stand out amongst the others, this is done the grab the viewers attention to that part. Overall the poster gives off a unwelcoming, sinister and negative vibe, suggesting that the film does too.
